NACD’s Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Regulatory Workshop is now in its third year and is going virtual for the first time! The workshop will be held August 11-13, 2020 — the week before our annual ChemEdge trade show and conference. And in case you missed it, ChemEdge will take place in person in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 17-18, followed by a virtual meeting September 1-3, featuring the same content as presented onsite but with a few additional sessions.
The TSCA Regulatory Virtual Workshop will take place in two-hour sessions over three days to allow participants to engage in learning from their own home or office and provide the flexibility that some might need to participate. We’re fortunate to have three different experts from the law firm Bergeson & Campbell P.C. present. Managing Partner Lynn Bergeson, Director of Chemistry Dr. Richard Engler, and Senior Regulatory Consultant Kathleen Roberts will share their TSCA expertise and be available to answer questions following each session.
If you’ve attended our TSCA Regulatory Workshop before, you might notice that the agenda this time focuses on specific TSCA “hot topics.” On the first day, the workshop will cover a review of TSCA basics and an update on Chemical Data Reporting Changes for 2020. The second day, we will take a deep dive into risk evaluations, covering the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's current approach and activities as well as the fees collected for those evaluations. On the third day, we will finish up with a discussion on Significant New Use Rules and conclude with an optional breakout session into virtual rooms divided by topic to allow participants to share information, ask questions, and discuss the content.
Following the workshop, the slides will be made available to attendees and we will solicit evaluations to improve future workshops. This is the perfect opportunity to stay on top of the latest chemical regulatory developments from your own office or home. We hope to see you at NACD’s first virtual regulatory workshop!
