Tuesday night’s dramatic results capped off a historic election season. For the first time in a decade, the White House and Congress will again be led by Republicans. And while the coming weeks will unveil much about President-Elect Donald Trump’s agenda, NACD will be closely monitoring developments to ensure that our industry’s priorities are heard within the incoming administration.
You should be. The whole process is exhausting. The ads on television and radio, the phone calls at dinner, the mudslinging at stump speeches and during the debates are all over the top. Anyone in the chemical distribution industry can tell you how important health, safety and environmental practices are to their companies. The protection of our employees and surrounding communities is critical to our work, and that’s why NACD Responsible Distribution®plays such an outsized role in raising the bar for our industry. The safety and security benefits of the program are unprecedented. However, in many cases, the benefits go well beyond these core values, including improvements in productivity, reliability, customer relations, supply chain management and practically every other facet of chemical distribution.

In those moments, it’s important to reflect on the work we’re doing and the ways we can maintain our mental resilience. In doing so, we can learn to manage the stress of an increasingly hectic work life.
