NACD Presents Award to Outgoing ACC President and CEO Cal Dooley for His Service to the Chemical Industry

Yesterday evening, the National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) presented outgoing American Chemistry Council (ACC) President and CEO Cal Dooley with the NACD “Calvin M. Dooley” Industry Partnership Award for his decade of service to the chemical industry.

Regarding Dooley’s retirement, NACD President and CEO Eric R. Byer stated, “For the last eleven years, Cal has been an instrumental leader in the chemical industry. His commitment to bipartisanship and advocating for sound policies that helped grow the economy and create jobs while ensuring safety and the implementation of best practices has been incredibly positive for chemical manufacturers and distributors. His efforts to partner with NACD in better aligning our associations’ respective environmental, health, safety, and security programs — Responsible Care® and NACD Responsible Distribution® — have strengthened the safety initiatives of both the chemical supplier and distribution communities.”

Byer continued, “NACD and ACC have enjoyed a very strong partnership during Cal’s tenure to advocate for the chemical industry on Capitol Hill and demonstrate to the general public the importance of chemistry in 21st century life. His leadership in Washington on impactful legislative efforts like Toxic Substances Control Act reform and freight rail reform have been instrumental in ensuring the entire chemical supply chain has our voice heard. While we are sad to see Cal go, we thank him for his devoted service to the industry over the past decade and we are honored to present him with this award.”
