Reinstatement of Superfund Tax on Petroleum Products – Impact on Chemical Distributors

  • Thursday, November 3, 2022 | Noon - 1:00 pm (ET)

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 reinstated the Hazardous Substance Superfund Financing Tax Rate on Crude Oil and Petroleum Products, effective January 1, 2023. This is in addition to the reinstated Superfund chemical excise tax that took effect on July 1, 2022. Certain liquid taxable substances subject to the chemical excise tax may also be petroleum products. When a chemical product is both a taxable substance and a petroleum product, it is taxed as a petroleum product, with the taxes due when entered into the United States. This is likely to have an impact on NACD members and cause even more confusion.

Please join NACD for a webinar to be presented by tax attorney Douglas Charnas of McGlinchey Stafford PLLC and chemical regulatory experts Lynn Bergeson and Richard Engler, Ph.D. of Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. They will discuss the newly reinstated tax rate and how to determine its impact on your business.

Retool & Retrain: Enable Sales Teams with Growth Playbooks

  • Thursday, December 9, 2021 | Noon – 1:00 pm (ET)

Senthil Gunasekaran, Co-founder & Managing Director, ActVantage discussed how the pandemic ushered technology into many facets of the business, especially on sales. The customers have more options online than ever in terms of product availability and pricing. There are non-traditional digital competitors who use business marketplace to reach diverse customers. While the customers and competition evolved to the next stage, the sales team struggles to elevate their game. The effective transition of sales teams is going to be the deciding factor for revenue recovery. How do we enable sales teams to retain and grow customers in this unique environment? The answer lies in leveraging one of the most under-utilized assets: customer data. Based on cross-industry distribution research, we developed a two-step roadmap that would help chemical distributors drive profitable growth through actionable customer analytics and resulting growth playbooks.

Media Training

Talking to the media is like no conversation you will ever have. It is even harder when you are also in the middle of an unfolding situation or crisis. To complicate things further, eye-witnesses immediately begin to post live videos, recorded videos, photographs and ugly posts the instant your situation becomes visible. If you don’t speak and issue a statement, the information void is filled by rumors and speculation, which can hurt your revenue, reputation, and brand. Wow! That sounds like a lethal combination. How do you win?
Gerard Braud has been helping organizations on five continents prepare for interviews for more than 25 years. Based on the 15 years prior to that when he was a television reporter, he has devised proven techniques to help organization prepare their statements on a clear sunny day. His training techniques also involve having key elements built into each statement. The final part of the training is to move at the speed of social media to finalize the statement and then get it out to the media, your employees, customers, community and other stakeholders. From this webinar, attendees will touch on the secrets you need to know in order to prepare before your event, as well as how to quickly deliver a perfect statement.

Alex Goldfayn's 5-Minute Selling Webinar Series

Alex Goldfayn, author of the Wall Street Journal bestsellers 5-Minute Selling (published August 2020) and Selling Boldly (2018). He is the CEO of the Revenue Growth Consultancy, which grows distributors and manufacturers by an average of 10 to 20% annually, year after year. Over the years, within these organizations, more than 10,000 salespeople have successfully applied the concepts that will be covered today. Some of these individuals have doubled and even tripled their personal sales. Want to do the same? You’ll learn exactly what to do today!

  • The Revenue Growth Mindset

This webinar examines how success in selling follows success in our mindset. We cannot outsell our mindset. Optimism, gratitude, and perseverance are so incredibly important in selling success. We look at how to develop each one and how to maintain your optimal sales growth mindset over time, even in times of panic, like during a pandemic.

  • How To Grow Your Sales Now

This is the techniques webinar. Alex discusses a dozen no-cost communications techniques that will grow your sales significantly and very quickly. Approaches include making proactive outbound phone calls to customers and prospects (when nothing is wrong!), the power of following up on quotes, and consistently asking the reverse did you know question.

  • In Sales, SYSTEM is Everything

This webinar will build upon the first two sessions, and build your firm’s selling system. Consistent implementation of lightening- fast communications over time is the key to selling success. This, of course, is your system. One call is not enough, but one daily proactive call made consistently adds up to more than 200 per year. Two calls a day is 400 per year. The system is the key. In this webinar, we build yours.
