Benefits of NACD Membership

Networking and Education
NACD’s meetings and trade shows provide members with the ability to network easily with industry peers from inside and outside a company’s competitive marketing area.
OPSEM
The Association’s annual Operations Seminar and Trade Show (OPSEM) is the largest trade show of the chemical distribution industry. OPSEM offers valuable educational sessions featuring experts on the latest regulatory requirements, as well as operational and technical industry information affecting chemical distributors and vendors. Key executives and operations managers from the chemical distribution industry, chemical manufacturers, and government agency personnel attend OPSEM, making it a great networking opportunity.
Annual Meeting
NACD’s Annual Meeting is the premier meeting and annual expo for chemical distributor professionals. It provides an opportunity to exchange ideas with other top executives in the chemical distribution industry, attend sessions that focus on the latest products and trends affecting the industry, and visit with a variety of exhibitors at the Vendor Expo. The Annual Meeting offers members networking opportunities at social events including receptions, the Regional Dinners, the Gala Dinner, and the Annual Golf Tournament.
Regional Meetings
NACD’s Regional Meetings provide an opportunity to convene with chemical distributor professionals in particular areas of the country. These meetings allow peers to discuss topics that are unique to each region, and offer educational sessions
on timely issues.
Representation
NACD is the industry’s voice in the nation’s capital, and every voice is important! Professional representation on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies is a daily NACD staff activity to represent members’ interests.
Washington Fly-In
The Washington Fly-In allows NACD members to join forces to influence federal legislation and regulations through a Capitol Hill reception, a full day of personal visits with Senators and Representatives, and meetings with agency officials at the highest level.
NACD PAC
NACD PAC, a voluntary, non-profit political action committee, provides a way to support federal candidates who agree with NACD's positions on issues that affect the industry.

The industry’s magazine, the Chemical Distributor, is published nine times a year and highlights members’ news, Association and industry activity, and provides business information useful to chemical distributors.
NACD News Briefs
NACD News Briefs is a biweekly e-mail newsletter outlining the key legislative and regulatory actions affecting NACD members and reporting on other key industry activity.
NACD Web Site
The NACD Web site is a great resource for industry information and Association news. Search for Responsible Distributors, find information on industry events, and register on-line for RDP workshops and NACD conferences.
Updates and Alerts
Security Updates & Alerts, Regulatory Alerts, and Legislative Action Alerts are essential action tools and references for RDP, and government and regulatory affairs issues.
Professional Development Courses
Professional development courses are offered at reduced rates through NACD partnerships with several organizations. Members and Affiliates can enroll for Web-based training sessions and courses in convenient locations across the country. Courses on sales, customer service, and regulatory issues provide employees with opportunities to expand their knowledge in a variety of areas applicable to the chemical distribution industry.
RDP Workshops & Webinars
Twice a year, RDP workshops provide members with valuable training on how to remain current and compliant with RDP requirements. Webinars offer additional training throughout the year.

Environmental Insurance
NACD has teamed up with AIG Environmental® to provide an environmental insurance program for members. When you purchase AIG's core policy, AIG will reimburse your company’s Responsible Distribution ProcessSM Verification fees.
Company Productivity Report (CPR)
WHERE DOES YOUR COMPANY FALL IN THESE MEASURES?
- Total sales expense of selected NACD Factory Pack members: Averages about 34.6%.
- Inventory turn-over at high performing member companies with a Balanced Mix is 6.11 times per year. Low performers turn 6.01 times.
- Delivery Expense as a percentage of gross margin for Liquid Chemical Distributors is 19.3% for those at the middle of the pack.
The NACD Company Productivity Report (CPR) is an annual financial ratio benchmarking analysis tool for member firms to evaluate their company’s operating results in order to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses, and improvement opportunities. Participating firms receive an overall 150-page industry-wide report as well as an individual report containing the firm’s own ratios calculated alongside the appropriate industry comparatives. NACD members receive the survey in the mail every March.

Compensation and Benefits Survey
Every two years, NACD members have the opportunity to participate in a Compensation and Benefits Survey (CBS) that provides insight into the pay and benefits provided to employees in the chemical distribution industry. Salaries and benefits are aggregated into employee categories that cover all aspects of a chemical distribution organization and are then further refined according to size and geographic location of the participating companies. Plan to participate in the 2009 survey.
